We are tickled beyond hopes of repair to be releasing Franz Nicolay’s new album, “To Us, The Beautiful!” January 20th, 2015, on CD, LP and digital for the North American territories.

If you’ve been living right, you will remember Franz from such bands as The Hold Steady, The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Against Me!, collaborations with bands varying from Leftover Crack to Amanda Palmer, and of course, his epic-as-fuck solo albums like 2012’s “Do The Struggle”, a proud tradition this new album boldly builds upon.

As Franz puts it,

The title, and title track, is from a Ukrainian toast that goes, “To us, the beautiful–and to those who disagree, may their eyes fall out.” That is pretty much how I feel about this album.

I made it with Ara Babajian (Leftover Crack, the Slackers) on drums, Andrew Seward (Against Me) on bass, and Yoni Gordon on guitar. I mostly played guitar too. J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) produced. It took about six days to rehearse and record. It felt easy and we had a good time.

In celebration, come party with Franz and the Silver Sprocket crew as we descend upon The Fest in Gainesville, FL, including a special treat – an official Fest set with full-band of performers from the new album: Ara Babajian (from Leftover Crack) and Andrew Seward (from Against Me!)

Oct. 30 – Pre-Fest 2 – Tequila’s (outside), Tampa FL. 1:40pm. (w/ Mikey Erg, PJ Bond, Matt Woods & more.)
Nov. 1 – The Fest, Gainesville, FL @ Loosey’s (FULL-BAND feat. Andrew Seward and Ara Babajian) 3-3:30.
Nov. 2 – The Fest, Gainesville, FL @ CMC (solo acoustic). 5:50-6:20. (w/ Vic Ruggiero, Emilyn Brodsky, Chris Farren, Spoonboy, & more.)

The title track, “To Us, The Beautiful!” is steaming now from Silver Sprocket.
Pre-order the new album on CD, LP or digitally or your eyes will fall out.
