Featuring vocals in both English AND Japanese, The Custom Kicks make short, fast, fun songs and are heavily influenced by bands like The Boys, The Rezillos, The Zeros, Real Kids, The Dickies and The Undertones. They’ve garnered quite a bit of attention around their native Bay Area; SF Gate calls the band “awesome indie pop with a punk rock edge… If they were 30 years older they could have been considered for a supporting role to The Ramones in Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.”

The EP features 6 songs and is available now Silver Sprocket in both pink and green vinyl and includes an mp3 download.

I couldn’t beleive it when Skott asked if I’d be interested in re-issuing the album, and got further blown away upon hearing the re-mastered recordings and seeing the new artwork and linear notes from Aaron Cometbus. 17 year old me would be shitting his pants at this point. I suppose somewhat appropriately Shang-A-Lang’s last record of new material, titled Waiting for the End, will be released on the first week of what many consider the last year of human existance. Shang-A-Lang has been an incredibly prolific band over the past few years, having done countless splits (really, I can’t count them), several 7 inches, an LP/CD, and a Collections LP. The release is between 7 labels that have helped the band out in various ways over the past several years: Dirt Cult, Fast Crowd, Silver Sprocket, Dead Broke, Let’s Pretend, No Breaks, and Drunken Sailor (UK). Each label will have 118 copies. These five songs are probably the best SAL material to date, which makes the break-up even more bittersweet.
This record features full-color cover art from Mitch Clem and Nation Of Amanda and an MP3 download code.

It’s been real tough to keep this one a secret, but now we don’t have to keep quite any more! Hot on the heels of the Rev. Horton Heat tour, we will meet up with our friends Lucero for a weeks worth of shows in Colorado and Utah!
