Marnie Galloway

Marnie Galloway is an cartoonist and artist best known for her Xeric Award winning wordless graphic novel In the Sounds and Seas, as well as the comics Burrow, Particle/Wave, and Slightly Plural. Her comics have appeared in Best American Comics, The New York Times, PEN America, Mutha Magazine, Saveur Magazine, and Ask Magazine, where she worked as staff cartoonist for 9 years. She formerly served as an organizer of the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE), and currently teaches comics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is working on her next graphic novel. This 45-year old stronghold of queer literature in Chicago has stood the test of time and is likely one of the places you think of if you have a picture of a feminist bookstore in your head.
