Rosemary Valero-O’Connell is a Spanish-American cartoonist and illustrator living in Brooklyn, and the creator of Don’t Go Without Me (Shortbox) and the co-creator of Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me (First Second), She is a multiple time Eisner, Ignatz, and Harvey winner, as well as a Printz and Society of Illustrators honoree, and her work has been shown in galleries both locally and internationally.

This 45-year old stronghold of queer literature in Chicago has stood the test of time and is likely one of the places you think of if you have a picture of a feminist bookstore in your head.
